What is a Whitelist?

A “whitelist” is a list of e-mail addresses or domain names from which an e-mail blocking program will allow messages to be received.

To ensure that the newsletters that we send you end up in your inbox, and aren’t mistakenly sent to the junk folder, please whitelist our email address.

Below is information on how to whitelist us with AOL, Yahoo, Gmail, Hotmail, Outlook, Apple Mail, ThunderBird, Earthlink, Verizon and Postini. Even if your email program is not listed, with these instructions you should be able to figure out how to whitelist our email address with any other email programs to ensure you don’t miss an issue of Investment Contrarians.

MICROSOFT OUTLOOK

Open your latest Investment Contrarians e-mail.

• Copy the address in the “From” line.
• On the Tools menu, click Options
• On the Preferences tab, click Junk E-mail
• On the Safe Senders tab, click Add
• Paste the Investment Contrarians address where it says “Add Address”
• Click “OK”
• Thank you for white-listing Investment Contrarians.

AOL

To add Investment Contrarians to your AOL address book:

• Open an email from us and then click the “This Is Not Spam” button
• Copy the address in the “From” line.
• Click the Mail menu and select Address Book
• Wait for the Address Book window to pop up, then click the “Add” button
• Wait for the Address Card for New Contact window to load
• Paste the Investment Contrarians e-mail address into the “Other E-Mail” field
• Make our “From” address, the Primary E-Mail address by checking the appropriate box
• Click “Save”
• Thank you for white-listing Investment Contrarians.

YAHOO!

To whitelist Investment Contrarians with Yahoo!, you will need to set up a “filter” after first taking the following steps:

• If you find email from Investment Contrarians is going to your Yahoo! bulk folder, open it and click “Not Spam”
• Be sure that the address is not in your “Blocked Addresses” list. If it is on your “Blocked Addresses” list, select it and click “Remove Block” Now to create the filter:
• Open your mail and copy the address in the “From” line
• Click on “Mail Options” in the upper right hand corner
• Select “Filters” (in the bottom left corner)
• On the Filters page, click “Add”
• Select the “From Header:” rule, and add “contains” and paste the Investment Contrarians e-mail address
• Click the “Choose Folder” pull down menu and select “Inbox”
• Click the Add Filter button
• Thank you for white-listing Investment Contrarians.

HOTMAIL

First, if you find email from us in your Hotmail junk folder, open the email and copy the address in the “From” line, then click “Not Junk”

• Next, check to see if if the Investment Contrarians email address is on your Blocked Senders list. If you find it on your Hotmail blocked senders list, select it and click on the “Remove” button
• Next, open your mailbox and click “Options” in the upper right hand corner
• At the top of the page, click on the “Junk E-mail Protection” link
• Next, click on “Safe List”, which is down near the bottom
• Copy and paste the Investment Contrarians e-mail address where it says “Type an address or domain” Click the “Add” button
• Thank you for white-listing Investment Contrarians.

EARTHLINK

If you’re using Earthlink, you can make sure your Investment Contrarians is delivered to your Inbox by adding our sending address to your Address Book. Here’s how:

• Open your latest Investment Contrarians e-mail.
• Copy the address in the “From” line.
• Click on Address Book (it’s over on the left, below your Folders).
• When your Address Book opens, click the Add button.
• On the Add Contact screen, find the Internet Information box.
• Enter the address you copied from the “From” line into the top Email box.
• Click Save
• Thank you for white-listing Investment Contrarians.

GMAIL

First, if you find email from us in your Gmail spam folder, select our email and click the “Not Spam” button

• Next, open an email that you have received from us and copy the address in the “From” line.
• Click on the little down-pointing-triangle-arrow next to “Reply”
• Click “Add to Contacts list”
• Thank you for white-listing Investment Contrarians

THUNDERBIRD

To whitelist in Thunderbird, you will need to add Investment Contrarians to your address book, and then set up your Thunderbird Junk Mail Controls to whitelist your address book.

• First, if you find email from Investment Contrarians in your Junk folder, right-click on our email and choose “Mark as Not Junk”
• Next, open the email that you have received from us and copy the address in the “From” line.
• Next, click the Address Book button
• Highlight the Personal Address Book
• Click on “New Card”
• In the “Contact” tab of the new card, copy and paste the Investment Contrarians email address in the email dialog box
• Click “OK”
• Next, to whitelist your address book, select “Tools > Junk Mail Controls” from the drop down menu
• Update the “White Lists” module under the “Settings” tab by selecting “Personal Address Book” from the drop down menu, and then check the box next to “Do not mark messages as junk mail”
• Click “OK”

VERIZON

If you’re using Verizon for e-mail, you can ensure that Investment Contrarians is delivered to your Inbox by adding our “From” address to your Safe List. Here’s how:

• Go to your Verizon Inbox
• Click Options
• Select the Block Senders tab (near the top of the screen)
• On the Block Senders screen, you’ll see both a “Block Sender List” and a “Safe List”. In the space where it says, “Enter e-mail address or sub domain to always accept even if the domain is blocked”, enter the address in the “From” line of your most recent Investment Contrarians
• Thank you for white-listing Investment Contrarians

APPLE MAIL FOR OSX

First, if email from Investment Contrarians ends up in your junk folder, highlight or open it and click “Not Junk” at the top of your screen. Then:

• Open the email that you have received from us and copy the address in the “From” line.
• Go to Mail > Preferences from your Mail menu
• Go to the Rules tab
• Select Add Rule
• Give this rule a name such as “Investment Contrarians“
• Create a rule that says “If any of the following conditions are met: ‘From’ ‘Contains’” and then paste in the Investment Contrarians e-mail address
• From the actions, select “Move message” to mailbox “Inbox”
• Click “OK”
• Thank you for white-listing Investment Contrarians

POSTINI

If you find email from Investment Contrarians in the Junk area, check the check box next to the email address

• Click the “Deliver Selected” link at the very top of the Junk screen
• On the next screen, click the “Approve Sender” check box next to the email address
• Click the “Approve Selected Senders” button
